I have had so much fun shooting in Lake Placid this year! Morgan and Shane's wedding was my third consecutive wedding in Lake Placid and it was just as amazing as the others!
This day though, instead of the crazy sun I had the last two weddings, we had the challenge of on and off pouring rain. But thankfully, Morgan and Shane didn't care about the weather. They just wanted to get the best photos and videos possible! (I love you guys for that!!)
This year, there has been one location in particular that has been popular with my couples. I love it too! But, I've tried pretty hard for each one to make it unique to them. Shane and Morgan initially wanted to head right to this specific spot to do their first look, but I had another idea in mind. My good friend Amanda was shooting with me for this wedding, and she and I headed up to Lake Placid a little early to scope out a spot I had never shot at. I took a few cell phone pics and presented it to Morgan and I barely finished telling her about it before she said yes. I was psyched. The spot will blow you away! I could have shot there all day!
Since Shane and Morgan live out of the area, we communicated a lot by email. However, last year they were in town for the holidays, so I met up with them and the very talented Josh of A Moment 2 Share for drinks and to talk about the day. It was so great having the chance to get to know everyone before the big day. I knew that their wedding day was going to be a good one!
On the day of the wedding we all met up with Shane and Morgan at a beautiful rental just outside of Lake Placid - this place was gorgeous! We did some photos there and then headed out for first look. The rain held off during first look but just as we started heading to our second spot it became a torrential downpour! Thankfully when we arrived at our second location, Mother Nature gave us a few minutes of rain free moments so they could read their vows (she must have heard me muttering to her under my breath!). The rain started softly coming down during the vows but they didn't even notice - it was an amazing moment!
After a foggy ceremony the rain had stopped for a little while, there was some clearing in the sky and we even caught a rainbow! The rainbow lasted only moments; I felt lucky to capture anything at all!
Before I share their photos, I wanted to share some information about the other wedding pros that made this day what it was:
